This delicious dish is a favorite in the South-Indian state of Kerala....This is one of my favourite beef preparations.... It is served as a main course dish with Dosas, Idlis, chappathis, Appams, Kappa(tapioca) & parathas..

Ingredients

1.Beef-1kg

3.Shallots(cheriya ulli)-15-20(cut in thick slices)
4.Ginger(grated)-2tbsp
5.Garlic(grated)-1tbsp
6.Coconut pieces/grated coconut(i used grated..since i dont like biting coconut  in between)-3/4 cup
7.Coriander powder(malli podi)-2tbsp
8.Chilly powder-1tbsp
9.Pepper-1tsp
10.Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
11.Cumin seeds powder(cheriya jeeraka podi)-1/2 tsp
12.Fennel seeds powder(perum jeeraka podi)-1/2tsp

Preparation

~Mix coconut with 1/4tsp turmeric powder & 1/4tsp salt.
~Heat 1tbsp oil in a pan & saute this mixture until it turns a perfect color & keep it aside.

In a pressure cooker...

~Wash the beef properly & drain it & add in pressure cooker.
~Add items 2 to 17(only 1 onion & 1tbsp oil) & mix well.
~Add 1/2 cup water & close the lid with the weight on.
~Cook till 5 whistles & check the beef after the steam has gone..if not cooked, cook for 3 more whistles.(it took 9 whistles for my beef to get cooked..it depends..)
~Meanwhile, heat 2tbsp oil in a large kadai & saute the rest of the onions in it..
~Once its golden in color..add the contents in the pressure cooker to this & mix well.
~Add green chilly according to your taste & more curry leaves & cook till the gravy thickens.
~Can add more pepper & salt according to taste..

This was sooo delicious...:)
