Eggs always come to our rescue when we are in a hurry to cook, or don't want to invest much time in cooking...... This is the beauty of egg especially in the form of Omelete that it is so versatile..... And my, how many ways an Omelete can be made!!! So this is a new variety with which an omelete can be transferred into a snack...Lets see..
Ingredients (for Omelete)
1.Eggs-3
2.Onion-1 (big)(chopped)
3.Green chilly-1 (slit into half & chopped)
4.Tomato- 1/2 (small) (chopped finely)
5.Salt-1/8 tsp
6.Oil-1 tbsp
7.Milk-1 tbsp (optional)
8.Curry leaves-6 (chopped)
9.Garam Masala-1/2 tsp
Ingredients (for batter)
10.All Purpose Flour (Maida)-1 cup
11.Pepper-1/2 tsp
12.Salt-1/4 tsp
13.Soda powder-1 pinch
14.Chilly powder -1/2 tsp
Omelete Preparation
~Crack the eggs into a bowl & combine with onion, green chilly, tomato,curry leaves, garam masala salt & milk.
~Beat this mix until frothy.
~Heat a small fry pan with oil.
~Pour this egg mix into it & spread evenly (there should be little thickness)
~Cook over low heat
till mixture is firm and flip it and fry the other side.
~Once cooked, remove from flame & let it cool.
Batter Preparation
~In a bowl, add maida, salt, soda powder, pepper, chilly powder & mix them with a spoon.
~Add little water to this & mix it into a thick batter.
~Keep this aside for half an hour.
Fritter Preparation
~Heat oil in a kadai.
~Just drop a little of the batter to test the heat of the oil, if the drop rises suddenly in the oil, the oil is ready.
~Now dip the omelete pieces in the batter so that its covered with the batter & dip it into the oil & deep fry it.
~The omelete pieces might break when dipped in the batter...its fine..just take the broken parts along with dipped omelete & fry..
~Shapes would be different..
