Banana Gulgulas (Mini Banana Dips)

These are like lightly sweetened mini fritters.... This is a quick and easy to make recipe. ..Its actually a kids special..But you will also love it if you love bananas.... This is an easy & healthy recipe to make when you are craving for something sweet....

The shape differs according to the thickness of the batter...

Ingredients

1.Banana-1(ripe)
2.Wheat flour(Atta)-3/4cup
3.Sugar-1/4 cup
4.Salt-1/2 tsp
5.Fennel seeds powder(perum jeerka podi)-3/4 tsp
6.Yoghurt-2 tbsp
7.Olive oil-1 tsp(any oil would do)
8.Baking powder-1/2 tsp (optional)

Preparation

~Mix wheat flour, sugar, fennel seeds powder, oil, yoghurt & mix well.
~Peel the skin of the banana & mash it well with the above mix with your hands.
~If bananas are ripe enough, no liquid would be needed, else..
~Add very little milk if required & mix well.(add water slowly as needed to make the thick consistency batter....so you can scoop up small balls..)
~Heat oil in a narrow pan over medium heat.
~To check if the oil is ready, put one drop of batter in oil. The batter should come up suddenly.
~If oil is not hot enough gulgulas will stick to the bottom of the frying pan.
~Carefully drop heaping tablespoons of thick batter into the hot oil.(Don’t over crowd the frying pan.)
~Try using 2 spoons, scoop the batter with 1 spoon & wipe it into the oil with the next...
~Fry until golden brown...

Sweet banana dips are ready !!!
